Match Report - Week 10
NH 245-7, East Horsley 136-9
North Holmwood got back to winning ways on Saturday with a very strong performance at Ockham. The hosts chose strangely to bat on a very green wicket, but looked comfortable early on until skipper Andrew Morgan ripped the heart out of the middle order with 3 quick wickets leaving Ockham at 20-3.
Only G Mason (Ringer for the day) stood firm throughout the innings making an unbeaten 67 whilst B Greenwood made a good 26 before Andy Guest took a stunning catch at mid wicket to get him out.
Robin Lines had replaced his skipper and after a slow start finished with 5-44 off 14 overs of pace and swing. Daryl Goff too bowled with skill but only got 1 wicket as did Darren Jordan. A good fielding effort too showed the visitors are keen to sustain their position as league leaders.
Tea was Tea
So began the chase Darren Jordan and Steve Edwards started brightly against the dangerous Greenwood and the movement of Rough. Edwards again showed great awareness of the situation and played well scoring shots all around the wicket until finally being bowled for 41. After Jordan went Ian Elliott continued his recent good form by keeping the run rate up in his unbeaten 41, with Daryl replacing Edwards at the crease he continued with his rgood return to form and scored a quick unbeaten 28 to set up the very comprehensive win.
