North Holmwood vs Broadbridge Heath - home 6th September 2009

On an autumnal feeling day skipper Daryl Goff won the toss and decided the 10 men of Holmwood should bat first. Andy Guest and Dave Welton were the chosen 2 to open and both started confidently on another good wicket. Guesty hit 4 fours and a huge straight 6 in his innings of 29 and was first to go cleaned out by Skilton with a slower one. Andrew Morgan desperate to impress the skipper took his time to accumulate his runs hitting 10 singles and 1 two in his first 12 runs. Dave Welton reached 50 before trying the'Dilshan' and was next to go. Stewart Homewood then got a ball he could hit anywhere but instead hit it straight at short fine leg for a duck. Skipper Goff again looked technically good for his 8 before Stocker got him. In came Alex Wyatt to smite the ball to all parts when the opportunity arose.  Morgs was cleaned out for 24. Robin Lines decided to join Wyatt in the hitting stakes and fell for a quick 24 leaving Ian Elliott to see the innings out unbeaten on 16, Wyatt unbeaten on 39.

Tea good as always

.
In reply Tyson and Baker made a good start against the new opening pair of Mike Cleal and Elliott. Darren Jordan came on but struggled with length before the skipper withdrew his services from the attack. Enter Robin Lines and Stewart Homewood who tied the batters down before removing moving them; Lines taking 2-19 from his 8 very tidy overs. Homewood bowling a spin variety package got excessive turn and did well early on before the last pair of Skilton and Patel got after him, finishing with 2-51 off 7.3 overs. BBH wining with 2 overs to spare.

NORTH HOLMWOOD 210 for 6 Lost to BROADBRIDGE HEATH 215 for 5
