Proudly Associated With Fullers
Holmwood won the toss and batted first with Ollie Wall and Darren Jordan opening. Wall didn't last long playing all round a straight one with Ghylas Lounis following the same way. When Ian Elliott fell adjudged lbw for 0 the home side were in a little trouble but Alex Wyatt joined the veteran Jordan to settle the nerves. Jordan was hitting all the bad balls for 4 and Wyatt being very selective with his shot making. Wyatt went for 29 followed by the returning Dave Lines for 9. Ian Page and Daryl Goff followed in quick succession but the whole innings was built around Darren's super 72. Skipper Mike Cleal and young Gav Morrison both made 2 leaving Des Jones unbeaten on 0. Wilkinson and Shiv were the pick of the oppo's bowlers taking 3 and 2 respectively.
Tea was good thanks Mr Lines snr.
With the weather being cold and dull the decision was made to bowl the overs quickly and so we did. Gavin Morrison opened down the hill with the skipper opening up. Morrison politely asking for an lbw got the ball rolling and when the Chairman caught one at sleep off the skipper the cards were on the wall for Churchleigh. Daryl Goff, Wyatt and Jordan took wickets at regular intervals with the safe hands of young Gav taking 2 good ones on the run. The innings lasted 26 overs with the hosts victorious by 70.
