40 over game
Dorking kindly fulfilled a fixture at short notice at Inholms Lane on Bank Holiday Monday and enjoyed themselves.
Scott Kelsey rode his luck early on to score a quick fire 32 including a couple of cracking shots.
The innings was built around captain Tom Chisman's knock of 94 not out with good support from Scott Minihane and Dan Ryan in a total of 180-5.
Holmwood used 8 bowlers giving all the lads a chance on a hot and humid day.
Alex Wyatt and Daryl Goff opened well with Darren Jordan, Steve Edwards and Mike Cleal supporting well as the bowlers were on top early on. Andy Anderson rolled back the years with 5 overs of accuracy claiming 1-9 on an even paced surface. Young Gavin Morrison had his first ever bowl and skipper for the day Ian Elliott finished off the innings slightly more expensively than most.
In reply the first 6 Holmwood batsmen got in but failed to convert to a decent score. Ian Page and Dazzer joint top scored with 21; Pagey hitting 2 huge sixes. Ian Gregg swung the ball nicely in the humidity taking 5-45 with Toby Blood, Chris Ward and Scott Kelsey all bowling well and each taking a wicket. As the rain came the tail failed to wag and Dorking secured a comfortable victory.
NORTH HOLMWOOD 111 all out LOST to DORKING 180 for 5
