What a game! What a result! Jackie's score of 109 (am sensing a theme here!) was fantastic. A well thought out innings and a pleasure to watch from the other end! My innings was somewhat conservative, getting Jackie on strike! We decided to bat first and set a score, with the Surrey Chairperson on the sidelines spectating Jackie was on fire!
With a strong line up we were confident in defending a score of 172 (well when I say confident ....). Dona and Janet bowled out of their skins! There was crisp fielding and Suellen took 2 lovely catches. Katie ended up flat on her face but held onto her diving catch too. Going into the last over, Chid had scored 3 more runs than we had at the same stage. I'm glad I didn't know that at the time! We kept the runs down to 16 off the last which gave us the well deserved and needed victory! Fab-u-lous! What else can I say. Hopefully this win will give us the confidence boost we need to get some good results from our remaining few games. It won't be easy but we're up for the challenge!
