The North Holmwood Tour De France
"Five Intrepid Slightly Mad Explorers Head Off For The Wilds Of France"
The Date will be the 1st October 2011, the intrepid explorers are; Michael Cleal, Laura Nolan, Daryl Goff and Tess Davison, this foolish bunch have took it upon themselves from out of nowhere to endure a weeks worth of saddle sore by riding from North Holmwood Cricket Ground to Coly in France, a total distance of approx 1,000 km's in 6 days all for the great causes of the British Heart Foundation and the Childrens Trust. To say that only one of them has any real cycling experience is an understatement.
But this challenge has not been taken lightly, to date, all of the team has already put in many training hours and as a light warm up recently completed the London to Brighton bike ride. Which they also used the chance to raise some more money for our selected charities.
More details to follow and why Coly you may ask? All will be revealed soon.
As if this is not enough, on the 26th/27th August the team will be completing a fund raising 24 hour cycle marathon in support of the main fund raising event on the 28th August. Rumours are leg waxing could take place during the event, looking at the 3 men involved I just hope there is enough wax in Dorking!!
Please help them to raise as much money as possible and make that saddle sore worth while, please contact Michael Cleal at the following address: mikecleal@northholmwood.com or grab him in the bar whilst he is fine tuning his strict training program or you can donate using the following link.

GOOD LUCK TO YOU ALL, heres to forgiving saddles and a strong tail wind!!!!!
August Bank Holiday Weekend - The Main Event
"Cycling, Leg Waxing, Disco, Bar be que, Quiz, Raffles And Of Course Some Cricket"
The main event will be held at NHSC on the weekend of the 26th August and will not finish until Monday the 29th ( Bank Holiday Monday) with our annual local village 6-A Side Cricket Knockout Competition. Typically 8 teams from the local area compete in an exciting competition where hitting 6's and 4's are the name of the game along with some liquid refreshment during the day which always lends itself to a few dropped catches and plenty of fun and laughter.
The reason for this and all the other events is to try to raise as much money for these very deserving charities. Just with a small donation, a prize or more importantly attendance at an event can make all the difference for young and old.
These events are well supported by our Social Club members and I could not forget our "friendly" opposition teams, but we need more people, whether friends, relatives or work colleagues to help make this weekend along with the other events a success and you never know we could top last years total of 8,000 GBP. Everyone is welcome!! PLEASE PLEASE come and enjoy the fun.......
If you need a contact to explain more about the events described above, please do not hesitate to contact Mr. Ian Elliott...

"The Night of a 100 Curries" June 2011
"Now they say there is now such thing as a free meal"
For the 2nd year running and with again SPECIAL THANKS to our friends at the Chili & Spice Restaurant in Dorking whom cooked and served 100 curries for free at the ground, all guests were charged only 10 pounds for another superb meal with all proceeds going directly to the charity pot. Once again the food and the atmosphere was fantastic up at the club and the night only ended with only one or two sweaty brows. To finish a raffle was held and the final tally of 1,205GBP was raised from this event, THANK YOU you to all that made this happen, especially to Alam and his staff and those who always seem to be able to donate prizes.
